It's that time of year again. In a few hours I'll be in my first class at TWU. I'm so excited and nervous at the same time. After spending the last year doing nothing but core classes, I'm so happy to finally be in a science classroom again and actually working on my major.

Not all of my classes are for my major though. TWU has two "institutional options" that I have to take that I wouldn't at any other university. The first is a Women's Studies class since this is after all Texas Womens University. I'm not sure about this one. I have a feeling it's either going to be a class I love or one I completely detest, and if it has a lot of physco blabbel it's probably going to be the latter.

The second class I 'have' to take is Quantitative Literacy. I'm not looking forward to this at all. I thought surely I was done with Math after Calculus II, but no. Even Math majors have to take this course which sounds a lot like Consumer Math. The problem is that I skipped 7th and 8th grade math and went straight to Algebra in the 7th grade, so I missed a lot of simple things like percentages. I still stuggle with it. I can find the area between two curves, but don't ask me what 75% of 200 is. I should ace this class, but I have a feeling it's not going to be as easy as it should be.

Which is why I so look forward to my Biology and Chemistry classes. If all I ever had to think about all day was the inner workings of the cell, I'd be happy.
